Frequenty Asked Questions:

Q.
Can a membership cover more than one individual?
A.
A membership is either for one individual who pays the annual dues or for two or more individuals living at the same residence who pay one annual dues.

Q.
How can I get in touch with other collectors in my area?
A.
One way is through the membership directory that is published every April. It contains contact information for each member as well as collecting interests. There is also membership information collated by Country/State/City in the index. Another way to get to know other collectors in your area is through local meets that are held in certain areas of the US. While not sponsored by the Golden Glow, many members of our club host/attend these events

Q.
How many people attend the conventions? Can only members attend the convention?
A.
In recent years, the conventions have approached or exceeded 600 people from across and outside the US. Each member can also bring a guest to convention; each would need to pay a registration fee to attend. The registration fee covers certain meals and convention costs from the start to the end of convention.

Q.
Can I register for the convention and join the club at the start of the convention?
A.
As the convention numbers need to be finalized in advance for the hotel rooms and convention meals, we are not able to support new members registering at the start of convention. Normally, registration for the convention needs to happen about 2-3 months before the convention.

Q.
Are there any additional events besides the convention?
A.
There are local meets held in certain areas which promote education, friendship, and the opportunity to buy and sell among collectors. While not sponsored by the Golden Glow, many members of our club host/attend these events. The newsletter also details antique shows where members/dealers are selling.

Q.
I forgot when my membership will expire - how can I find it out?
A.
Your membership expiration date is printed on the mailing label for your newsletter. This is the last issue you will receive based on your membership dues paid to date.
